Resident Engineer Kirk McWilliams is engaged in the development of the Lower Mon Project at the Charleroi Locks and Dam of the Port of Pittsburgh. As an engineer, one of the highlights of his career was assisting in the remarkable installation of the Braddock Dam. Photos of the dam being floated up the Ohio River can be seen in The Monongahela River program. The Lower Mon Project is a vital part of the necessary rebuilding of our locks and dam system to accommodate the larger barges, ensure safe and consistent services along the rivers and improve navigation for commercial and recreational vessels.
